  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ Tbsp ground Pumpkin pie spice
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • tsp ground allspice

  • ½ Tbsp caramel sauce
  • ½ Tbsp Madagascar vanilla bean extract
  • ¼ tsp lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp orange juice
  • 1 whole star anise pod

Instructions

  • Add your lemon juice, orange juice, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and caramel sauce.
  • Drop a star anise into the crockpot along with your spices. Stir, place the lid on, and cook on LOW for 4 - 6 hrs, OR HIGH for 3 hours. We went with HIGH.
  • Stir and remove the star anise, as the mixture thickens then you can turn the heat off and transfer to a blender.
  • Puree any remaining chunks to ensure a smooth finish for your fruit butter spread, No matter how you choose to use it, just make sure you enjoy it!

Notes

Storage Tips

Once fully cooled, you have two options. You can either:
  • Refrigerate: In an airtight container, you can store for up to 2 weeks. If you're nearing your 2 weeks, freeze the rest to avoid food waste.
  • Freeze: Freeze for up to 3 months, using the same storing method.
