Equipment

  • 1 Large saucepan
  • 1 wooden spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 12 oz bag of Frozen Cut Italian Green Beans
  • ¼ cup Simple Truth Organic® Low Sodium Free Range Chicken Broth
  • tsp Better than Bouillon Roasted Garlic Base
  • ½ tsp Better Than Bouillon Premium Seasoned Vegetable Base
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • tsp sea salt
  • lemon juice Optional: just a few splashes

Instructions

  • In your large saucepan, on high heat, melt your butter and olive oil, until a bubbling foam is produced.
  • Add your green beans and saute for about 5 minutes, stirring periodically.
  • Once the frosty look has gone away, add chicken broth, pastes, and seasonings and stir, until combined well. Reduce the heat to simmer, place a lid on the pan, and allow to simmer for 10 - 15 more minutes, depending on how tender you want your green beans.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Storage Tips

  • Once fully cooled, place the leftovers in an airtight container. Sauteed vegetables will keep fresh for up to a week in the refrigerator. Freezing isn't ideal for these, as they become soggy, so just plan to make them when you're ready to eat them.

Reheating

  • In a hurry, you can use the microwave and reheat for about a minute.
