Equipment
2 small saucepans
1 Large baking sheet (for fries)
1 small or medium baking sheet (for hot dogs)
1 griddle pan (or small or medium non-stick skillet)
Ingredients
½bagArby's Curly Fries(or any fries of your choice)
1pack8 Bun-Length Hot Dogs
115 oz canHormel chili(no beans)
115 oz canEl Mexicano Nacho Cheese Sauce
⅓red onion(diced)
1pack8 Hot Dog Buns
unsalted butter(enough to coat pan and buns; for toasting)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (or as directed per your fries' cooking instructions).
While that's heating up, you can dice your red onion, set it aside, and have that ready for the final assembly! Might as well at least open your cans of cheese and chili, too!
On your larger baking sheet, spread your fries out evenly, one layer, so they cover the pan and aren't overlapping. Once the oven is preheated, place the baking sheet in the oven. Let them cook for 10 minutes and then flip them with a spatula (or tongs).
You can now empty the chili and cheese cans into the appropriate saucepan. Begin heating at medium heat, periodically checking to ensure they're not boiling, and if so, turn the heat down to simmer!
At this same time, you can place your hot dogs on another baking sheet. Once the fries are flipped and the hot dogs are arranged on the second baking sheet, place both baking sheets into the oven, side-by-side, on the same rack. Cook for another 10 - 15 minutes (depending on how crispy you like your fries and how charred you like your dogs).
While the dogs and fries are finishing up in the oven, and your cheese and chili are heating up, let's toast those buns; if you want, of course!Over medium-high heat, we used a tad bit of butter to coat the griddle pan and polish each bun to enhance the golden brown finish and buttery taste we're looking for. It takes 3 - 4 minutes to toast it, so keep a close watch and then set them aside.
With everything done, you can now assemble as you wish and indulge as you should!
